Pierre Mazurette's community involvement

Mr. Mazurette has been particularly active on the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean cultural scene. In 1976 he became president of Fédération des sociétés culturelles du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean and secretary of Corporation du Musée du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean Inc., then served as president of the Corporation from 1978 to 1982.

In 1993 Mr. Mazurette was president of Corporation de la Semaine mondiale de la marionnette de Jonquière Inc., a biennial puppet theater festival. In 1996 he served as president of Fondation des musées du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.

Since March 2010 he has been president of Diffusion Saguenay Inc.

Pierre Mazurette has also worked to develop public institutions in our region as secretary of Fonds de dotation du Centre hospitalier de Jonquière in 1984 and then president between 1985 and 1989. He is a member of Conseil des ambassadeurs at Cégep de Jonquière.

Also active in the socioeconomic sphere, Mr. Mazurette was vice president of Centraide Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean (1981–1983), president of Chambre de commerce de Jonquière, and director then president (1995–1997) of Conférence régionale des chambres de commerce du Haut-Saguenay.

He is deeply involved in his professional order, in which he has performed and continues to perform a number of director duties, having co-founded Centre d'accès à l'information juridique (CAIJ).
