Pierre Mazurette, Q.C., Ad.E.

« The truth is nothing to a man without its discovery. » Pierre Billon

As a young lawyer already enjoying the trust of our regional public institutions, Pierre Mazurette heads Gauthier Bédard law firm, sharing his enthusiasm and unwavering dedication to his profession and to society, as well as his concern for issues pertaining to ethics and conduct.

Admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1975, Mr. Mazurette specializes in administrative law, civil law, tort law, and insurance law. His eloquence has made him a noted litigant before the Quebec Court of Appeal. He has pleaded many times in his long career, before judicial and administrative tribunals, and this has given him the opportunity to set case law precedents in Quebec and in Canada.

Mr. Mazurette represents numerous public institutions including municipalities, colleges, school boards, hospitals, and healthcare organizations. Long before Quebec society felt an urgent need, he realized the importance of the ethical questions and rules of proper conduct facing the administrators and heads of public institutions. In recent years, he has put his extensive experience as an ethics counsellor at the service of several public corporations in Quebec.

Mr. Mazurette became Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1989 a reflection of the high esteem in which his colleagues hold him. Over the course of his long career, Mr. Mazurette has received many honours: In May 2003 he received merit awards from the Quebec Bar and the Quebec lawyers association, as well as the Medal of Merit from the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean Bar. In March 2007 Mr. Mazurette was awarded the title of Advocatus Emeritus by the Quebec Bar.
